History

Village Manager was originally created as a software-based database and was successful in helping communities and companies make sense of the communities - the villages - they defined. Many of the folks who used it loved its ease of use, analytical reports and automated processes. These organizations which often relied on volunteers were frustrated that only one person at a time could access the database and they had to be at the host organization's office to do so. Plus, different copies of the database were placed on individual computers and not on servers; sometimes those computers crashed and the database and its data were lost. Market Knowledge wanted to come up with a more secure and accessible Village Manager, hence www.villagemanager.net was born.
